Answering “what is the best skatepark in United Kingdom (UK) ?” is somewhat subjective. Indeed, skateparks have their own story and identity. They come in all kinds of sizes, shapes and landscapes. So we had a very hard time choosing our favourites especially when skateparks are a familiar part of the urban landscape.

Where I can find best skateparks ?
10. The Front, Weymouth, UK
The Front skatepark sits right on the coast, with Weymouth Beach and the great Lodmore Country Park on the other side. It features an outdoor undercover ramp park and also Weymouth’s only indoor ramp park. The indoor area is a recent addition. It hosts a street-feel technical skate area with flat banks, roll overs, manual pads, gaps and jump boxes. The outdoor ramp park is made up of a curved mini ramp with a hipped inner corner. Close to this, there is the spine park with a series of spines, quarter pipes, flat banks with roll overs and also hubbas.
There’s a dedicated beginners area outside. Handily, it’s undercover like the half pipe or vert ramp.

7. Rampworx Skatepark, Liverpool, UK
Established in Liverpool in 1997, Rampworx becomes the biggest indoor skatepark in the UK (70,000 sq ft) and also one of the biggest skateparks in Europe. The main room hosts the transition section and has a great variety of obstacles set over 30,000 sq ft. This area is divided into three distinct parts.
The first is full of boxes and jumps, the second features ledges and rails for grinding, the third section has step-ups, fun boxes and flat banks. The next section is the bowl which is one of the largest in the UK with different depths starting at 5ft and moving up to 7ft and 9ft. The street section has a amazing variety of obstacles that are slightly smaller than the other sectionsThen, the final section with a huge ramp from the front, a quarter pipe on the left and a roll-in on the right hand side.

6. Creation Skatepark, Birmingham, UK
Creation skatepark is an indoor skatepark in Birmingham (23,000 sq ft). It is made of custom wooden ramps set on a concrete floor. The park is mainly transition based and features kickers, spiens, pads, ledges, flat bars, and jump boxes. It has also a full sized vert ramp revamped in 2014 (standing at 12ft 6″ high and 26ft wide), a flowing bowl, a flow section, a vert wall, volcano, several quarters and even a foam pit. In December 2017, a new Street Section opened with a stairset, mini half pipe, flatbanks, manual pads and grind rails.

4. Radlands Plaza Skatepark, Northampton, UK
Radlands was originally an indoor skatepark in Northampton, built in 1992, but forced to close 12 years later. Then, it reopened in 2012. It is now an all concrete outdoor street plaza which is super smooth diamond shape. There are a lot of rails, ramps, ledges, sliders, kickers, hips, banks and also a strip through the middle that’s packed with boxes, rails, stair sets, manual pads and much more !

3. Projekts MCR, Manchester, UK
Opened in 2012, Projekts MCR is located underneath the Mancunian Way overpass in Manchester. It is literally 300 metres from Piccadilly Station, which will take you about 60 seconds on a skateboard.Projekts MCR is a big concrete and wooden plaza style street park. This undercover park holds flat banks, ledges, stair sets, rails, hips, a bowled mini run and bowled corners. This is a great spot and one of the best skateparks in the North West of England.

2. Bay Sixty 6, London, UK
Bay Sixty6 Skatepark is an amazing undercover skatepark in Ladbroke Grove with three core areas :
- a huge bowl made out of wood
- a street section full of quarter pipes, funboxes, stair sets, hips, ledges and the infamous vert wall !
- a beginner area with flat bars, star set wallrides and quarter pipes.

1. Two winners, two different styles
Underground style: Southbank Skate Space, N°1 in London, UK (see the full article here).
It is located in the Undercroft beneath Queen Elizabeth Hall. It opened in 1967 and first used by skateboarders back in 1973. It is a very famous skateboarding spot covered in amazing graffiti (accessible 24 hours a day).
The skateable plaza style area is all concrete and features a wide variety of blocks, the famous banks and a 7 stair set. There are 2 blocks in the lead up to the stair set, one flat and long with the other being shorter and slanted upwards. Near to the stair set is a great gap in the form of another block leading into a huge drop. On the other side is another upwards slanted block leading into a bank. The lower area of the Southbank Skate plaza is surrounded by the banks with a set of railings around the edge as well.

Indoor style: Unit 23 Skatepark, Dumbarton, UK
Unit 23 skatepark is a massive indoor skatepark that is set over three halls and takes up 56,000 sq. ft. It is s one of the largest indoor parks in the UK. It is so big !
Hall 1 is an open transition based area with a large open sided bowl, a series of corners and bumps, a hubba, a rail, a spined, a quarter pipe and two bowled areas with crazy vert walls.
Hall 2 is larger. It features both a transition section and little street section as well with bowled edges, flat banks, an insane vert wall, a large island surrounded with a bowled edge, quarter pipes, flat banks, a manny pad, a pole jam and a also hubba.
Hall 3 consists of a foam pit and a resi ramp with a jump box.
